Bircham Creek begins in northwestern Montague County a half mile west of the Cooke county line (at 33°43' N, 97°30' W) and runs north for 4½ miles to its mouth on Mountain Creek, three miles southwest of Bulcher in northwestern Cooke County (at 33°47' N, 97°29' W). It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by deep, fine, sandy loam that supports hardwood forests and conifers along its banks.
