Bitter Creek, in northeast King County, rises one mile west of the King-Knox county line (at 33°45' N, 100°01' W) and runs southeast for six miles to its mouth on the South Wichita River, a mile north of Getaway Canyon (at 33°40' N, 100°00' W). It crosses an area of rolling to steep slopes surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support juniper, cacti, and sparse grasses.
