Black Creek (Tyler County)

Black Creek rises north of Warren and five miles southwest of Hillister in southern Tyler County (at 30°39' N, 94°25' W); it runs southeast for thirteen miles, through Lake Hyatt and east of John H. Kirby State Forest, to its mouth on Hickory Creek, just north of the Tyler-Hardin county line (at 30°32' N, 94°23' W). It crosses flat terrain with local shallow depressions surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
