Blanco Creek begins a mile south of Farm Road 1050 and five miles southwest of Utopia in northeast Uvalde County (at 29°35' N, 99°37' W) and extends fifty-one miles southeast to its mouth on the Frio River, just west of Farm Road 187 (at 29°06' N, 99°27' W). Little Blanco Creek is a tributary of Blanco Creek. The stream crosses an area of steep to gently sloping terrain, where the limestone bedrock is locally exposed but generally surfaced by shallow gravelly loam and clay that support scrub brush and grasses. Downstream, the terrain is rolling, and the land surface of clayey loam supports oak, juniper, grasses, and, at the mouth, pecan and other hardwood trees.
