Blanket Creek begins five miles north of Blanket in eastern Brown County (at 33°54' N, 98°50' W) and runs southeast for thirty miles, through southwestern Brown County and western Mills County, to its mouth on Pecan Bayou, four miles southwest of Mullin in west central Mills County (at 31°31' N, 98°45' W). It traverses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions and a surface of clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
