Blanton Creek rises 5½ miles northeast of Detroit in western Red River County (at 33°41' N, 95°10' W) and runs northeast for seven miles to its mouth on Pecan Bayou, nine miles northwest of Clarksville (at 33°44' N, 95°06' W). The soil around the creek is loamy, and the area is heavily wooded, with pines and various oaks predominating.
