Blue Creek rises a mile south of New Berlin in southwestern Guadalupe County (at 29°27' N, 98°06' W) and flows south for 4½ miles to its mouth on Elm Creek, a mile north of the Guadalupe-Wilson county line (at 29°24' N, 98°05' W). The surrounding terrain is flat to rolling with local shallow depressions and a surface of sandy and clay loam that supports mesquite, water-tolerant hardwoods, and conifers.
