The largest of four Boggy creeks in Jasper County rises six miles southwest of Zion Hill in the central part of the county (at 30°47' N, 94°00' W) and flows southeast for eleven miles before joining Davis Creek to form Trout Creek (at 30°41' N, 93°54' W). Boggy Creek is intermittent in its upper reaches. It cuts through the deep, loamy surface of gently undulating terrain characteristic of central Jasper County. Loblolly, shortleaf, and longleaf pines and mixed hardwoods predominate in the surrounding pasturelands and woodlands.
