Boggy Creek begins in east central Austin, in central Travis County (at 30°18' N, 97°43' W), and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on the Colorado River, at the southeastern edge of the Austin city limits (at 30°16' N, 97°40' W). It crosses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support hardwoods and grasses.
