Boons Creek rises north of Gibtown in extreme southeastern Jack County (at 33°02' N, 97°59' W) and runs thirteen miles northeast to its mouth on Hunt Creek, at Lake Bridgeport in western Wise County (at 33°09' N, 97°53' W). The surrounding flat to rolling terrain is surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
