Bowie Creek rises in the Brady Mountains six miles south of Lohn in west central McCulloch County (at 31°15' N, 99°27' W) and runs southeast for 12½ miles to its mouth on Brady Creek, two miles west of Brady (at 31°09' N, 99°23' W). It crosses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by sandy and clayey loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
