Brushy Creek rises eight miles east-northeast of Mabelle in Baylor County (at 33°42' N, 98°59' W) and flows north for seven miles before entering a diversion reservoir on the Wichita River (at 33°46' N, 98°58' W). It runs through flat land with local shallow depressions and a surface of sandy and clay loams that support hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
