Brushy Creek rises in fertile farmland a half mile north of Farm Road 60 and one mile west of College Station in Brazos County (at 30°36' N, 96°23' W) and flows south for five miles to its mouth on the Brazos River, the Brazos-Burleson county line (at 30°32' N, 96°24' W). The area is flat to rolling and marked with steep margins. The clayey and sandy loams support post oak, pecans, willow, mesquite, and grasses, and, in the lower reaches, hardwood and pine forest.
