Brushy Creek rises six miles east of Garner State Park and three miles south of Farm Road 1050 in north central Uvalde County (at 29°34' N, 99°38' W) and runs eleven miles south to its mouth on the Frio River, four miles southeast of Concan (at 29°27' N, 99°40' W). It crosses flat terrain with locally deep and dense dissection, surfaced by gravelly loam and clay that support grasses, oak, juniper, and some mesquite; downstream, the land is flatter and pecans and other hardwoods grow.
