Buck Creek rises seven miles west of Centerville in west central Leon County (at 31°16' N, 96°08' W) and runs six miles west to disembogue in Brushy Creek three miles northeast of Marquez (at 31°16' N, 96°13' W). The stream traverses steeply sloping to nearly level terrain surfaced by sandy and loamy soils. Beside the creek grow post oak, black hickory, pecan, elm, water oak, and hackberry trees. Settlement of the area began in the second half of the 1800s. Concord is on the creek's north bank near its headwaters.
