Buck Creek rises eight miles north of Burkeville in northern Newton County (at 31°08' N, 93°39' W) and once ran northeast for four miles to its mouth on Indian Creek, about 1½ miles west of the Sabine River (at 31°10' N, 93°36' W). The creekbed, however, was by the 1980s almost completely submerged in Toledo Bend Reservoir. Several dismantled railroad tracks indicate that lumbering activities once reached the area.
