Buck Mountain, about seven miles southwest of Breckenridge in southern Stephens County (at 32°40' N, 98°59' W), has an elevation of 1,342 feet above sea level. The surrounding terrain is predominantly rolling prairie and is surfaced with clay loams that support mesquite and grasses.
