Buckhorn Creek rises a mile south of Bebe in southwestern Gonzales County (at 29°24' N, 97°39' W) and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on Salty Creek, 1½ miles southwest of Wrightsboro (at 29°20' N, 97°36' W). It traverses flat to rolling prairie with sandy loam topsoils that support grasses and mesquite.
