Buffalo Creek (Scurry County)

Buffalo Creek, also known as Buffalo Draw, rises near the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway fourteen miles southeast of Snyder in southeastern Scurry County (at 32°35' N, 100°42' W) and runs northeast for twenty miles to its mouth on the Clear Fork of the Brazos River, eleven miles west of Roby in west central Fisher County (at 32°46' N, 100°34' W). It crosses an area of moderately steep slopes with locally high relief, surfaced by shallow to moderately deep silt loams that support mesquite and grasses. Downstream, the terrain is flat and flood-prone; its surface of loose sand supports scrub brush and grasses.
