Bull Creek (Polk County)

Bull Creek rises two miles southwest of Carmona in northern Polk County (at 30°59' N, 94°58' W) and runs six miles northeast, into Trinity County and then back into Polk County, to its mouth on Piney Creek, seven miles northwest of Corrigan (at 31°03' N, 94°56' W). The stream crosses terrain ranging from low, to moderately rolling, to steep with local badlands. Area vegetation consists primarily of pine and oak forests in soil that varies from shallow and moderately dark clay loams to sandy and clay loams of variable depths. An abandoned railroad grade extending from Corrigan to a point near Bull Creek indicates that there was once lumbering activity along the creek's eastern bank.
