Bull Hollow, a drainage basin, begins seven miles northeast of the intersection of U.S. Highway 277 and State Highway 55 in northern Edwards County (at 30°17' N, 100°26' W) and runs northeast for about 12½ miles to its mouth on Eightmile Draw, five miles south of Interstate Highway 10 in southeastern Sutton County (at 30°24' N, 100°21' W). The hollow is located in the gently rolling limestone terrain of the western Edwards Plateau. It crosses loamy soils occasionally broken by rock outcrops. The vegetation in the area consists primarily of range grasses with small scattered stands of oak, juniper, and mesquite.
