Bull Hollow begins a mile north of the junction of Farm roads 864 and 2597 in north central Sutton County (at 30°39' N, 100°17' W) and runs northeast for 7½ miles to its mouth on the Middle Valley Prong of the North Llano River, just south of Farm Road 864 in southern Schleicher County (at 30°45' N, 100°19' W). The stream crosses the gently rolling limestone terrain of the western Edwards Plateau, where loamy soils occasionally broken by rock outcrops support range grasses and small scattered stands of oak, juniper, and mesquite.
