Cameron Creek rises six miles west of Jermyn in northeast Young County (at 33°16' N, 98°30' W) and flows northeast for eighteen miles to its mouth on the West Fork of the Trinity River, four miles southeast of Antelope in Jack County (at 33°24' N, 98°18' W). The stream's name is an alteration of Cambren, the name of a pioneer family from Jack County. The surrounding gently sloping to steep terrain is surfaced by stony loam that supports tall prairie grasses. The area has been used mostly as rangeland and has been the site of mineral production.
