Camp Creek rises three miles northeast of Calf Creek and just south of U.S. Highway 190 in southwestern McCulloch County (at 31°02' N, 99°27' W) and runs southeast for 10½ miles to its mouth on the San Saba River, seven miles southwest of Camp San Saba (at 30°58' N, 99°22' W). It crosses flat terrain with local deep depressions and rolling prairie, surfaced by shallow, stony soils and clay loams that support oak, juniper, and mesquite.
