Campbells Creek rises five miles south of Wheelock in southeastern Robertson County (at 30°50' N, 96°25' W) and flows southwest ten miles to its mouth on the Little Brazos River, three miles west of Benchley (at 30°44' N, 96°30' W). The surrounding nearly level terrain is surfaced by sandy loam that supports post oaks and grasses. The stream was named for Ruth Campbell, who held an original land grant along its course.
