Caney Creek rises six miles northwest of Harleton in northwestern Harrison County (at 32°43' N, 94°40' W) and runs southwest for 5½ miles to its mouth on Little Cypress Bayou, near the intersection of the Harrison, Gregg, and Upshur county lines (at 32°39' N, 94°42' W). The local nearly level to hilly terrain is surfaced by loams and clays that support dense patches of pine and hardwood trees. The land is used predominantly for agriculture.
