Cannon Gully rises in the Hufsmith East oilfield in northwestern Harris County (at 30°07' N, 95°34' W) and runs southeast for about two miles to its mouth on Willow Creek (at 30°07' N, 95°32' W). The local terrain is flat to rolling with local dissection and escarpments. The land surface of shallow to deep sandy and clay loams supports native vegetation including mixed hardwoods and pines. In developed areas native vegetation has been replaced by cultivated row or cover crops.
