Carricitos Creek rises twenty-two miles northwest of Callaghan in central Webb County (at 27°56' N, 99°46' W) and runs southwest for fourteen miles to its mouth on the Rio Grande, twenty-three miles northwest of Laredo (at 27°47' N, 99°49' W). The creek traverses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by expansive clays that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
