Cedar Creek rises four miles northwest of Troy in north central Bell County (at 31°14' N, 97°22' W) and runs southwest for 8½ miles to its mouth on Belton Lake, near Morgan's Point Resort City (at 31°10' N, 97°27' W). The creek traverses nearly level to sloping and rolling terrain, surfaced by gravelly, loamy, and clayey soils. The area is used predominantly for agriculture.
