Cedar Creek rises five miles north of Vivian in northwestern Foard County (at 34°07' N, 99°55' W) and runs east for five miles to its mouth on Canal Creek, three miles north of Sugarloaf Mountain (at 34°05' N, 99°48' W). The area's steep to rolling slopes are surfaced by shallow and locally stony sandy and clay loams that support juniper, cacti, mesquite, oak, and sparse grasses.
