Cedar Creek rises six miles northwest of Montell in far northwestern Uvalde County (at 29°37' N, 100°04' W) and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on the Nueces River, a mile east of Montell (at 29°33' N, 100°00' W). Along the course gentle to steep slopes and bench terraces are surfaced by gravelly clay loam that supports scrub brush, sparse grasses, juniper, live oak, and mesquite.
