Cedar Lake Slough is by the Horseshoe Bend of the Trinity River in southwestern Anderson County (at 31°46' N, 95°52' W). Much of it is in the Coffield State Department of Corrections facility. The 10½ mile long series of sloughs is an old channel of the Trinity River.
