Hainai chief Cheocas was formally invested as governor of the Hainai Indians on August 8, 1721. At that time, when it was refounded by the Marqués de Aguayo, he assembled his people to be neophytes of Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de los Hainai Mission.
