Clear Creek rises a mile west of the Blue Ridge oilfield in the northeast corner of Fort Bend County (at 29°35' N, 95°29' W) and runs east for forty-one miles, forming the southern boundary of Harris County and the northern boundary of Brazoria and Galveston counties, to its mouth on Galveston Bay (at 29°33' N, 95°01' W). The surrounding flat to rolling terrain is surfaced by sandy and clay loam that supports mixed hardwoods and pines.
