Frost Creek rises a mile east of the Horn Hill quarry in central Limestone County (at 31°33' N, 96°38' W) and runs southeast for ten miles, passing gravel pits on its way west and south of Groesbeck, before reaching its mouth at the confluence of Faulkenberry Creek and Rocky Creek, a third of a mile east of Red Hill (at 31°29, N, 96°31' W). The stream traverses an area of low-rolling hills and prairies. Local vegetation includes grasses, mesquite, and some chaparral, as well as elm, hackberry, and post oak woods.
