Houston National Banner
The Houston National Banner, a weekly newspaper that was published twice a week during sessions of Congress, was published by J. Warren Niles beginning on April 25, 1838. Hamilton Stuart was the editor for a brief period but left the paper because its publishers printed articles without submitting them for his approval. William Jefferson Jones, Simon Mussina, and George W. Bonnell were said to be connected with the paper, which suffered frequent changes of editors until it ceased publication in December 1838.
