Indian Mountain is two miles northwest of Thrifty, just north of southwestern Lake Brownwood, and east of State Highway 585 in west central Brown County (at 31°51' N, 99°10' W). With an elevation of 1,608 feet, its summit rises 158 feet above State Highway 585.
