Lake Brelsford, formed by the damming of the North Fork of the Leon River, is a mile northwest of Eastland in Eastland County (at 32°25' N, 98°50' W). It is a major source of water for Ranger, Eastland, and Olden in Eastland County and was named for its owner, H. P. Brelsford. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills and its banks are covered by shallow loams that support a variety of tall grasses and shrubs.
