Lake Colorado City State Recreation Park, located in Mitchell County eleven miles southwest of Colorado City, provides a variety of water activities, including fishing, swimming, boating, and waterskiing, as well as facilities for picnicking and camping. The 500-acre park was acquired in July 1970 through a fifty-year lease agreement with the Texas Electric Service Company and is adjacent to Lake Colorado City.
