William N. Mock, soldier, was born in Alabama in 1806 and moved to Texas in January 1835 with his wife, Ann, and their two children. During the Texas Revolution he served as a private in Capt. Moseley Baker's Company D of Col. Edward Burleson's First Regiment, Texas Volunteers, and fought at the battle of San Jacinto. On June 30, 1836, he reenlisted for three months in Washington County. After the war he moved to Houston, where he lived until 1838, when he moved to Walker County. Mock died there in 1841.
