Nussbaumer was on the Missouri Pacific line two miles east of Grand Prairie and ten miles west of downtown Dallas in western Dallas County. Its site is now within the city limits of Grand Prairie. The community was named for an early settler, probably Jacob Nussbaumer, who arrived at La Réunion in 1855 and also gave his name to Nussbaumer Avenue in Dallas.
