Spring Ridge is on Farm Road 354 by Spring Lake, eleven miles northwest of San Augustine in northwestern San Augustine County. In 1904 the Spring Ridge school enrolled twenty pupils under one teacher. In 1940 the community had a church, a cemetery, and scattered dwellings. By the 1980s Spring Ridge consisted of a number of dwellings scattered along the lakeshore.
