Sturgeon, also known as Baum, is at the intersection of Farm roads 678 and 2383, twelve miles northeast of Gainesville in northeastern Cooke County. Very little information is available concerning the small farming community. It reported population statistics only during the 1940s, when it had fifty persons and two businesses. It functioned as a community center for area residents. In 2000 the population was ten.
