SAND RIDGE, TX (HOUSTON COUNTY)
SAND RIDGE, TEXAS (Houston County). Sand Ridge, on State Highway 21 twenty miles southwest of Crockett in southwestern Houston County, was established before 1900. In the mid-1930s the settlement comprised a school, several businesses, and a large number of houses. After World War II many of the residents moved away, but in the mid-1960s there were still several businesses and a number of houses in the area. In the early 1990s Sand Ridge was a dispersed rural community.
