POSSUM KINGDOM, TX
POSSUM KINGDOM, TEXAS. Possum Kingdom, named for Possum Kingdom bend in the Brazos River, is a community on Farm Road 2951 and Possum Kingdom Reservoir, two miles west of Morris Sheppard Dam in northeastern Palo Pinto County. The community served water sports enthusiasts and area residents. No population figures were available. In 1948 the area had three hotels, and the community was two miles from Lu Kingdom school. In 1989 Possum Kingdom had four businesses and two hotels.
