ARTESIAN CREEK. Artesian Creek rises a mile southeast of the Lake Pasture oilfield in eastern Refugio County (at 28°24' N, 97°01' W) and runs southeast eleven miles to its mouth on Willow Creek (at 28°19' N, 96°56' W). Artesian Creek is intermittent in its upper reaches. The surrounding variable terrain is surfaced by muddy sand that supports mixed hardwoods and pines, as well as numerous prairie grasses.
