BEAR CREEK (HILL COUNTY)
BEAR CREEK (Hill County). Bear Creek rises three miles northeast of Steiner Valley Park in northwestern Hill County (at 32°05' N, 97°24' W) and flows south for three miles to its mouth on Lake Whitney, a few miles east of Steiner Valley Park (at 32°00' N, 97°24' W). It traverses variable terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support juniper, oak, cacti, and grass. The Bear Creek area has been used as range and crop land.
