BIG CREEK (LIMESTONE COUNTY)
BIG CREEK (Limestone County). Big Creek rises four miles north of Kosse in southern Limestone County (at 31°21' N, 96°38' W) and runs east for six miles to its mouth on Steele Creek, five miles south of Thornton (at 31°21' N, 96°34' W). It crosses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions and a surface of clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
