BITTER CREEK (TAYLOR COUNTY)
BITTER CREEK (Taylor County). Bitter Creek begins four miles southeast of Trent in the northwest corner of Taylor County (at 32°28' N, 100°06' W) and flows northeast for twenty-three miles before disemboguing into the Clear Fork of the Brazos River in southwest central Jones County (at 32°37' N, 99°53' W). At the stream's source the terrain is flat to gently sloping and surfaced with loose sand that supports scrub brush and grasses. Toward the Brazos the terrain remains similar, but the soil surface is silt loam that predominantly supports mesquite.
