BOX CREEK (CHEROKEE COUNTY)
BOX CREEK (Cherokee County). Box (Boxes) Creek rises at the confluence of Bean's Creek and Dement Creek, four miles southwest of Rusk in south central Cherokee County (at 31°45' N, 95°13' W), and runs southeast for sixteen miles to its mouth on the Neches River, two miles southwest of Weeping Mary (at 31°35' N, 95°11' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches and runs through flat to gently rolling terrain with clay and sandy loam soils in which grow mixed hardwoods and pines.
